SBSS’s fibre optic cable installation footprint covers 40 international submarine communication systems.

With dedicated project management, experienced onshore and offshore staff, a fully equipped fleet including advanced subsea assets, accredited jointing teams and a strategically located depot, SBSS is able to offer our customers valuable submarine cable installation and maintenance services in a timely and qualified manner.

Power Utility

SBSS is highly experienced in power cable installation and burial with over 50 projects delivered across power utility, O&G and offshore wind sectors since 2003.

We are committed to increasing client satisfaction through our integrated service offering. SBSS’s comprehensive set of services cover the lifecycle of submarine power cable from pre-project planning, through route survey, PLGR and route clearance, shore-end landing, beach works, cable installation, trenching to ROV-supported inspection and repair.

Renewables

SBSS stepped into the offshore wind business in 2017 and have delivered numerous significant 220kV export cable installation and burial projects in China.

In 2020, SBSS made an investment in Fu Yong 6, a multi-purpose cable lay barge equipped with a 5,500t capacity cable carousel system, which showcases SBSS’s commitment to contributing to the growing offshore renewables industry.

Oil and Gas

SBSS stepped into the O&G sector in 2003 with our first project delivered in the Dong Fang 1-1 field in the South China Sea. Since then we have completed 30 projects in the sector across the globe, including the BP Tangguh Extension in Indonesia, Shell Cili-Padi in Malaysia, Qatar Barzan in the Middle East and various offshore O&G field projects in China.

Our DP2 subsea construction fleet are fully integrated with a range of cable burial equipment, allowing SBSS to provide versatile subsea solutions in most seabed conditions.
