Welcome to Leonard Liu, new Vice Managing Director at SBSS

S. B. Submarine Systems (SBSS), Asia’s leading provider of submarine cable installation and maintenance services, announced today the appointment of Leonard Liu as Vice Managing Director.

Mr. Leonard Liu brings with him to SBSS a wealth of experience in the telecom sector. He initially worked at Posts & Telecommunications Design and Consulting Institute for 9 years before joining China Comservice (CCS) in 2004, the Chinese shareholder of SBSS and the leading telecoms infrastructure service group in China. He subsequently assumed a number of senior roles including Assistant to the General Manager in Shanghai Posts and Telecommunications Design and Consulting Institute and most recently as General Manager of CCS Shanghai Overseas Development Division.

With more than 24 years’ working experience in both Chinese and international telecom businesses, Mr. Liu has been responsible for implementing a host of high-profile initiatives in CCS. This includes leading the company in winning its first turnkey submarine cable project and chairing the establishment of its overseas product base.

Mr. Liu adds: “Prior to joining SBSS, I have been working closely with the company, supporting from CCS, in multiple international projects, through which I have developed a strong understanding of SBSS’s versatile capabilities in the submarine cable installation and maintenance sector. I look forward to working with Mr. Hibberd and the rest of the management team in expanding SBSS’s business to the wider offshore industry.
