We are thrilled to announce that the Asia Direct Cable (ADC) submarine system, initiated by China Telecom, is now officially operational. This state-of-the-art submarine cable system connects key locations across the Asia-Pacific region, including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Spanning an impressive 9,988 kilometers, the ADC employs advanced optical transmission technology with eight fiber pairs, capable of carrying over 140 Tb/s of traffic. This makes it the most advanced submarine cable system in Asia, significantly boosting intra-regional communication capacity and supporting our partners' digital transformation efforts.
Highlights
Over the course of more than two years, SBSS played a crucial role in the ADC project, with three of our cableships, CS Fu Hai, Bold Maverick and Fu Tai, responsible for nearly 80% of the system's installation. Our team successfully laid approximately 7,740 kilometers of submarine cables and buried 2,160 kilometers of them.
